Treat Failure As A Challenge |

By Saleh Ampaso Bucay
Long long time ago, I had watched a movie entitled “AGUILA NG MAYNILA” with which the late FERNANDO POE JR. starred. In that movie, there was a boy living with his blind grandfather, who earns money by selling some useable things he picks from the dumped waste materials at the Smokey Mountain. And I could still remember when he said to his grandfather prior to his death and I quote “Lo, Hangga’t may basura may pag-asa” (Grandpa as long as there is waste, there is a hope). As human beings, it is by instinct that when we have problems we are depressed. When we failed to achieve something we get frustrated and discouraged. Sometimes, we feel as if it is the end of the World. However, brothers and sisters, if that poor boy in the movie did not lose his hope, how much more for a more fortunate fellow like us? |

The greatest secret of Success |
By Wedad Jannah Bint Zainoden
Hey brothers and sisters in Islam, I would like to share to you a secret on how to be successful in life. If you will follow this, indeed your life would be successful not just here in this cruel temporary world but at the Hereafter as well, in which I think the most important one. Are you eager to know what this is all about?! Well, it’s actually so short that it won’t take much of your time and effort to internalize but I think it may change and turn your entire life into a SUCCESSFUL ummat of Prophet Muhammad (saw). One of the Hadith Qudsi says (excerpt from the long version of it): “O son of Adam, don’t love anyone while I am for you. If you attain Me, you will attain everything. If you lose Me, you lost everything. “ |

In the Journey of Man's Life |
Death is the most important event in the entire life of man, starting from the time when he was a fetus in his mother’s womb, and ending with the judgment of the Most High on the Day of Resurrection, stating that those of good faith and righteousness be favoured with eternal bliss, and those of disbelief and corruption with eternal torment. The time of death is described to be the most important moment in the long journey of man, which is due to the following: 1. It is the beginning of shifting from the manifest tangible realm known by man and became familiar to him to a realm that is unseen in the first stage of life and became tangible in the new stage that commences with physical death, so that the spiritual Resurrection will take place. In this spiritual Journey, man sees; for the first time realms differing completely from those of the worldly life he had lived in their accustomed or discorded. |

Our unexpected valuable visitors! |

By Wedad Jannah Bint Zainoden
Last October 5, 2009, we had our special and I should say unexpected visitors. Wanna know where they came from?. Well, they were our Afghan muslim brothers and sisters. Shocked?! Yes, precisely. They were truly our muslim brothers and sisters from the land of Afghanistan. You may ask why they were here in the Philippines, particularly in Xavier University, Ateneo de Cagayan. Well, according to our brief interview (I was actually a late late comer so I haven’t able to hear their talks), they were here basically to observe the practices and the services offered by the different selected schools in the Philippines so that they may get something out of it for improving their own education. We are very much apprised of what happened to their home lands, everything was destroyed after the war between them and the Americans including their education. And now, the American government is trying to help them out to rebuild their education (what’s behind the scene?!!!). |
