WAMY successfully held its Islamic Seminar in Mindanao State University Main Campus with more than 500 participants  from different organizations and colleges all over Marawi City. 

World Assembly of Muslim Youth-Phils, in collaboration with Insan Islamic Assembly MSU District held its first joint-Islamic seminar with the theme “RAMADAN: ITS ROLE IN MOLDING A BETTER SOCIETY” last August 26, 2009 from 8-12 pm at the Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao (IPDM), MSU-Main Campus, Marawi City.

Fasting of the Month of Ramadan: is one of the five pillars of Islam, as indicated by the saying of the Holy Prophet "Islam stands on five (pillars): To witness that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His Prophet; to perform Prayers; to pay Zakah; to fast the month of Ramadan and to perform pilgrimage to Makkah.

Ang papuri ay tanging sa Allah lamang na siyang Diyos ng sanlibutan. Nawa’y ipagkaloob ng Allah ang kapayapaan at biyaya sa huling sugo na si propeta Muhammad ( sumakanya nawa ang kapayapaan ).

Parating na naman ang pinakamainam na buwan sa lahat ng buwan dahil sa buwang ito ibinaba ng Allah (swt) ang banal na Qur’an na siyang liwanag at gabay sa sanlibutan. At sa buwang ito dodoblehin ng Allah ang kaniyang mga biyaya at papatawarin ng Allah ang mga kasalanan. Sa buwang ding ito bubuksan ang mga pintuan ng paraiso at isasarado ang mga pintuan ng impiyerno, kaya naman huwag pabayaang lumipas ang buwan ng Ramadhan maliban na lamang na tayo ay nagsasagawa ng mga ipinag uutos ng Allah at para hindi tayo mabilang sa mga taong lugi sa buwan na ito. Para maging mabuti at masagana ang pagsalubong natin sa buwang ito ay karapat-dapat na maging mabuti ang ating intensiyon at salubungin ito ng may pananampalataya.

1.     Situation of Muslim community in Manila

As I’ve observed, the muslim community here in Manila are  in need of Islamic propagation. We could even find ulama here but they’re not as active as others who can speak tagalog and English fluently. For this reason, there are only few propagators of Islam in this city unless dialects are being spoken in some limited areas. Yes, those ulama who have limited dialects such maranao, tausog, maguindanao may propagate Islam in some limited areas only where such dialects can only be used. I come to believe that people here could lend their ears to us but sometimes we could not even do what we want  to guide people on account of  beyond of our strength. We are few here.
