What to do in times of Trials? PDF Print E-mail

By Fachruddin Ampatuan

All praise is due to Allaah, may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon His Messenger, his household and companions. Fear Allaah as He should be feared for in this lies protection, safety, peace and guidance.

Allaah’s straight path is His Glorious Book and the guidance of His trustworthy Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam which he and his successors followed and which he directed his nation to adhere to in matters of belief and actions without exaggeration or negligence. That is the balanced way with which Allaah describes this nation when He says that which translates as: “Thus We have made you a median (i.e. just) community.” (Al Baqarah: 143).  This is one of the great virtues that make Islaam distinct from all other religions.

Allaah commands us to stand firm on this path. He says that which translates as: “So remain on a right course as you have been commanded, (you) and those who have turned back with you (to Allaah), and do not transgress. Indeed, He is Seeing of what you do.” (Hood: 112).

Reflection on Prophet Muhammad’s (S.A.W.) Struggle for a Better Life PDF Print E-mail

By: Mohammad Binladdin B. Andig

Our prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) struggle is one that we can say impossible to handle for an ordinary man like us. The prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) faced a lot of danger in making our world a better place. He faced numerous danger and countless insults and discrimination from the people amidst those entire; he showed his unmatched mercy to them. If it were ordinary people like us, we would have already hurt one another and cursed each other to the death.

His patience was unmatched the way he forgives and accepts the insults of the non-believers were severe that he was severely wounded yet despite of this he still forgave them. The best example is what happened in Ta’if, where the prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) was stoned by the children of the non-believer and got severely wounded that two angels from heaven asked him that they would topple the mountains onto the people if he desires but the prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) declined and even asked pardon and forgiveness of Allah because of the ignorance of the people towards Islam. That alone shows patience of the highest degree which no ordinary man can easily achieve or do.

I am a Muslim, but only by Name! PDF Print E-mail

WedadJannahZainodenBy Wedad Jannah Bint Zainoden

I am a Muslim, but only by name
When it comes to practicing, what a shame!
I go out wearing clothes that makes everyone turned their head,
It's alright if I occasionally lie
Yes I practice, BUT when it suits me
Or more to the point, when it pleases society.

How fulfilled I am when somebody appreciates my beauty,
Or more, when everyone else around.
Yes I listen to Islamic lectures and go to Islamic gatherings,
BUT most of the time just to show off my attire and face,
Wearing such branded clothing that is newly buy
Without minding that I may be looked covered yet naked.

Peace PDF Print E-mail

Collected by: Juffali Mamondiong (Capitol University Student)

Peace is not the absence of war in a particular place but the unity of people itself. Peace is very important for us, without peace we can’t develop ourselves a better one. When you say peace, it doesn’t mean the war was finally ended because in this world, every happy ending is just a difficult beginning. Some people say keep on fighting without thinking what will be the result of their battle.

Its not keeping the people on the other hand but giving freedom from what we want. Peace is the bridge in accurate education which can lead us in the integrity. And education is our key to success, which can build our world a better one.

Peace is our dignity and also is respect. Peace is the one who protect people from war, the one who makes people to unite each other. It is the one which gives us freedom to do what we want and to keep what we need.

The greatest secret of Success PDF Print E-mail

WedadJannahZainodenBy Wedad Jannah Bint Zainoden

Hey brothers and sisters in Islam, I would like to share to you a secret on how to be successful in life. If you will follow this, indeed your life would be successful not just here in this cruel temporary world but at the Hereafter as well, in which I think the most important one. Are you eager to know what this is all about?! Well, it’s actually so short that it won’t take much of your time and effort to internalize but I think it may change and turn your entire life into a SUCCESSFUL ummat of Prophet Muhammad (saw).

One of the Hadith Qudsi says (excerpt from the long version of it):

“O son of Adam, don’t love anyone while I am for you. If you attain Me, you will attain everything. If you lose Me, you lost everything. “

Treat Failure As A Challenge PDF Print E-mail

Saleh Ampaso BucayBy Saleh Ampaso Bucay

Long long time ago, I had watched a movie entitled “AGUILA NG MAYNILA” with which the late FERNANDO POE JR. starred. In that movie, there was a boy living with his blind grandfather, who earns money by selling some useable things he picks from the dumped waste materials at the Smokey Mountain. And I could still remember when he said to his grandfather prior to his death and I quote “Lo, Hangga’t may basura may pag-asa” (Grandpa as long as there is waste, there is a hope).

As human beings, it is by instinct that when we have problems we are depressed. When we failed to achieve something we get frustrated and discouraged. Sometimes, we feel as if it is the end of the World. However, brothers and sisters, if that poor boy in the movie did not lose his hope, how much more for a more fortunate fellow like us?

Short Stories

It is sad to say that we see some of the Muslim youth hates their own religion. Unfortunately, some are wishing  if they were not born as a Muslims then they could follow their desires freely without thinking of Divine presence and accountability (in the Day of Judgment).

Qur'an Verse

Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,- Al-Qur'an, 004.095 (An-Nisa [Women])
